Arizona Entrepreneurs brings business owners who want to give back. Foundations Athlete screens every mentor and host, prepares the athletes and runs each match. Athletes get real guidance from people who built something outside of sports.

How it works
Four steps.
Intake
Athletes, or a parent for their athlete, start with a short survey and an application. For athletes under 18 a parent or guardian joins intake and signs consent before anything else happens.
Match
Every suggestion carries a score out of 100 and the reasons behind it: goals 40, sport and stage 25, interests 20, availability 15. Only mentors who cleared all six safety steps and have room can be suggested. Staff confirm every match.
Introduce
First meetings happen by video hosted by staff, at the business with staff present, or at an FA event. A meeting with a minor can only be scheduled once a parent or guardian is confirmed to attend.
Grow
Athlete and mentor set three goals together at the first meeting. Staff log check-ins along the way, and the athlete sees progress and milestone badges on their dashboard.

High school, college, professional and athletes in transition. Start with the survey to see which mentors fit your goals, then apply. If the athlete is under 18, a parent or guardian is part of every step.
Business owners
Arizona Entrepreneurs members and other business owners who want to mentor, host a shadow day or internship, or lead a virtual workshop. You choose how many athletes, which stages and how you take part.
How matching works
A score you can see.
Each suggested mentor comes with a score out of 100 and the reasons behind it. Goals count most. Staff confirm every match.
Mentors still in safety screening, or already at capacity, are never suggested.
Safety standards
Six steps before any match.
Every mentor, internship host and shadowing host completes all six. The portal won't let staff match or approve anyone until every step is checked off.

Standards with every athlete
- Minors meet mentors and hosts only in group or supervised settings, never alone with one adult.
- Messages with minors include a parent or guardian, through approved channels.
- A parent or guardian attends the first meeting for athletes under 18.
- Every first meeting is led by Foundations Athlete or Arizona Entrepreneurs staff.
- No recruiting, selling or individual financial advice from mentors or hosts.

Virtual workshops
Members lead live online sessions on real topics: starting a business, sales, money and teams. Open to athletes and families.
Mentoring
Athletes matched with screened members by goals and industry interest, using the FA mentor matching process.
Shadowing
Supervised visits and shadow days at member businesses for college athletes and older high school athletes with guardian consent.
Internships
Structured internships at member businesses for college athletes and athletes in transition.
